2011 has been an emotional roller coaster for me. Unfortunately, it has affected my 365 blog so as you can see I made it until half-way through the year. still, I'm happy enough that I have something to look back and remember through these pictures how my 2011 was. I'm also glad that some of my "blogger" friends made it through up to this day. This coming year, I am going to try again, (it's leap year, by the way) although I am no longer putting myself under pressure. I may or may not post everyday, which is much easier since some days tend to be too hectic or uneventful. So to all my blogger friends, if you were able to complete your project 365, kudos to you, and Happy New Year. :)

P.S I posted the last photo for 2011 as my way of saying goodbye to 2011's project.

I hate to admit it, but it was only when someone significant had given this to me that I became familiar with this native instrument.

Coffee crumble (Selecta)- an ice cream flavor I'd eat over and over and still crave for it. Although today it isn't as comforting as it used to. Maybe it's the pain as I open my mouth. Or maybe... I'm missing ~~someone~~ something.

27: Pain in the A--[tooth]

The post-operative period- where anesthesia wears off, and pain kicks in- is no laughing matter. It hurts down to the jaw. Even the slightest movement in my mouth intensifies the pain. It made eating more challenging. (Good thing, someone invented pain killers.) And it's all because of this impacted wisdom tooth. Not only it is non-functional, it made my teeth crooked. Good riddance!

Despite bomb threats, I went to Manila to claim something from these guys. Thankfully, someone accompanied me, who also happens to be familiar with them and also a (sometimes) listener. We watched the boys do the show for a while.

I should originally be posting a dental x-ray showing all the wisdom teeth that needs to be removed. The upper central incisors are still not aligned (despite the braces)because the wisdom teeth (that should have been removed) grows and pushes the rest. The new dentist said I need to put on braces again after the removal of all wisdom teeth. Also, the lower wisdom tooth on my left had been painful once. As per check-up, it has to be removed surgically. Yikes!

PS. I don't know why the previous dentist did not explain that before. :p

Is what I've been struggling to for quite a while. Finishing this book is another. There are a lot of challenges that we need to face in this life. I have to admit, I have been pessimistic for some time. Ever since I graduated from college, I've been working on being positive about everything. But erasing a bad habit is not that simple. It's weaning an addict off from an abusive substance.

At this point in time, I want to be and stay positive with everything. I seriously hate making plans for fear of not making it happen. Because there are some events that would get in the way of our plan. But I guess it's how we actualize our plans despite the obstacles.

So I thought, If I can finish this project, then definitely I can do anything.:)

I almost forgot to post for today. Anyway, I'll be putting here my dog-again. Sorry for the blurred resolution, she keeps on turning her head away. Honestly our family isn't that creative with dog names. We just call them the typical names you would give on ordinary dogs. Brownie may look a bit like a high-maintenance canine, but she's an askal. However, she's not the type you'll see along the streets, obviously. She's a bit spoiled in terms of feeding, thus her body looks fat. The thing about my dog is that she's been with us for eleven years. A lot of our dogs had passed away ahead of her. Yet, Brownie's been strong enough through the years. Stray cats seemed to bore her though, as she's no longer chasing them.

No, I am not in Cebu. I wish I was there to experience Sinulog though. Guess I gotta include that to my bucket list. Anyway, the feast of Sto. Nino is also celebrated in other parts of the country where the parish church honor Him as their patron. It is also a chance to give thanks for all the blessings received. That includes our humble town. The fiesta wasn't that festive compared to the typical ones done in the province.

We heard the mass, and the priest explained the essence of the celebration. The thing is, I was so distracted (sorry!) with my thoughts, and kids running back and forth. But I caught some of what he said, such as the way people treat the image. Some of us treat it as if a lucky charm to help us in our needs. Some who had much devotion, had treated it like a "Barbie doll," dressing it up with different clothing. The sermon included the need for people to understand that the Sto. Nino represents Jesus, and his humble childhood.

I intend to post a picture of the procession, but the button of my camera won't click. :/

Made "coffee jelly" while waiting for dinner. The taste wasn't as good as I had expected but I'm already hungry. To add, I got distracted with the radio when I heard this conversation:

It's been a while since I had coffee. I don't drink that much because caffeine has the tendency to make me all hyper, but not that productive. Although in my college days caffeine seemed to have no effect on me as I still feel sleepy when I'm studying.

My boyfriend told me about an unlikely incident that happened yesterday.Someone had put on a huge banner just outside the gate 1 of a certain university in Dasma. The banner had the following words written: Mahal na mahal kita [name of a girl], sorry sa lahat, peace na tayo, I'm still in love with you. Undoubtedly, this girl turned into an instant celebrity. Some of the students who had witnessed, found this incident astonishing, that one (apparently) of them came up with a fan page on Facebook. What made me laugh is the screen shot on the fan page confirming that the girl is indeed a student, a freshman to be exact. I have no idea if the guy studies in the same school.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of grand gestures, but I witnessed something like this before during our batch board exam review. The lecturer had been kind enough to to take few minutes from us answering questionnaires. Maybe to give us a little break from the stressful and boring review. So the guy batch mate went on to express his cheesy sentiments to the girl. The rest of my batch mates yelled cheers for the guy. Sounds romantic? Well actually it's more like a scene from teeny-bopper or Tagalog movies. :))

It was quite unusual for me to wake up early on a Sunday morning. And by early, I meant 10:00AM. I was about to eat Pandesal when I heard a Taho vendor. I couldn't pass up for it since I rarely wake up early on weekends.

8: Clean up and Munch Junkies

A boring, boring Saturday. I was supposed to see my friends, but one of them got sick. Internet had been working all day, as I watched Amazing Race Asia on youtube. I decided to clean up my toes while waiting for videos to buffer.

After all the DIY cleaning, the videos are still buffering. That's when I decided to go out the nearest store and feast on some good ol' junk food. :D

7: Dare

It feels odd to stroll around the mall after the holidays. Crowds are gone, and few shoppers were there either to grab a quick bite or just buy some grocery stuff. No long queue of people doing last-minute or panic buying. They still have the Christmas decorations, though. Which brings me to this picture.

Someone dared me to pose at a pink carriage (which I found too garish), part of a mall's "fairy tale" themed Christmas decors. I was reluctant at first, but when I saw few people taking pictures, I opted to do this one instead. Then we took more shots with other fairy-tale themed spots doing a weird pose. Good thing it was around half an hour before closing time, so there weren't much people who might gawk at us. :)

5: Chocolate

As a kid, I've always been restricted with eating chocolates. I was quite prone to tonsillitis, because it often comes back. And recurring inflamed tonsils may lead to rheumatic heart fever, a complicated cardiac disease. It was only until high school that I have been able to eat sweets as much as I could. Recently however, I've grown to love dark chocolate among others. I can eat it from the gourmet to the cheapest ones available.

The bittersweet taste keeps me wanting for more, instead of feeling sick of it or umay. Also, it keeps my happy hormones(endorphins) up, specially when I'm stressed or when things just blew up and I feel depressed (a good alternative for alcohol!:D). Well, it has been said that dark chocolate helps increase endorphins in the body. Yet, I take this with moderation, of course- I don't want to get type 2 Diabetes just to keep myself in a good mood.

By the way, thanks for the treat. You know who you are. :-* And it's not yucky fyi, I shoved one into your mouth! Haha!:p

A good friend of mine gave me this hand-painted tote bag for Christmas. She loves to doodle and she's GOOD at it. Give her something- a worn out bag, pair of shoes, piece of clothing- and she'll give a new life to it.

There's a leftover all-purpose cream in the fridge. I was hungry, but didn't want to eat potato salad. So hunted around the kitchen for pasta, tomatoes, pesto (again), and onions. There was no meant in the freezer, so I went outside to buy... don't ask what's on the top. You might not like it. :p

The Challenge

This is a tough task for me. I love to write about trivial stuff that come across my mind. But for some reason(read:lazy), I end up blogging whenever I feel like it.

Since I have been missing my other blog accounts, and I have been frustrated with writing, I might as well use this one to share a part of my private (private?? artista ka 'teh?!) life. I just need to do this for 21 consecutive days so it becomes a habit- or at least that's what my college professor said.

Anyway enough of that. It's three days late, but as cliche goes, better than never. Thanks to my internet buddies for encouraging on this one. Whoever came up with this idea, kudos, and I hope you'll finish this project too.

As the fireworks welcome 2011, my 10-year old dog hastily hid under the table where the christmas tree is. I have insisted my mother to let her inside since we almost lost her a few new years ago.
